Key Questions to Ask Before Hiring a Roofing Contractor

Do a quick online search for residential roofing contractors in Denver, and you’re bound to find several matches. Finding the right one shouldn’t feel like looking for the needle in the proverbial haystack if you ask the right questions. When interviewing a potential roofing contractor, ask the following questions:

QUESTION: Do You Have a Physical Address?

If your roofing contractor has a physical address, that means: they are a legitimate business, they have samples you can check on, and, more importantly, they are a lot less likely to run out on you if you need help with the warranty and repairs. If you prefer to ask the rest of the questions in this list in person, we’d be happy to have you drop by at our location in Canosa Court.

QUESTION: Are You Properly Licensed?

A legitimate roofer should have no problem providing you with a copy of a valid license issued by the City of Denver Community Planning and Development. In addition to further supporting a contractor’s legitimacy, it is also your guarantee that all their installations are up to code. Plus, if you need assistance with financing roof repair, you have the assurance that the contractor can back you.

QUESTION: Do You Have Insurance?

The same roofing company should have no problem providing a copy of their insurance certificate. Make sure the insurance coverage includes general liability insurance and workers’ compensation. Both will protect you from liability in the event of accidental property damage or workplace injuries.

QUESTION: What Kind of Roofing Warranty Coverage Do You Offer?

Roofing warranty coverage differs with the manufacturer, product and package, but there should always be coverage for both material and workmanship. The latter is especially important as most roofing problems are rooted in installation errors rather than factory defects. In addition to all applicable factory warranties, All Angles Covered offers a five-year warranty on workmanship for pitched roofs and one-year coverage on flat roofs. We’ll even live up to our name and do you one better by offering warranties on roof repair.
